YONG Real Estate Volleyball Team Wins Championship & Medals at 2010 QLD Corporate Games

More than 4,000 people attended the annual two day Qld Corporate Games held on Saturday, 15 and Sunday, 16 May this year.

There were total of 15 sporting competitions from badminton and basketball to soccer and volleyball. The awards were presented based on their division which was determined by the number of entrants for each company. Points for each competition were calcuated based on the number of wins multiplied by the number of entrants for the game.

YONG Real Estate was listed in Division 2 (6-10 entrants) and participated in the Volleyball competition. The YONG team of 8 people, who play volleyball together twice a week during the year, won the silver medal for the volleyball competition and Ausenco, a mining company listed in Division 5 (51-100 entrants) won the gold medal for volleyball and the Qld government who had the biggest team with 1299 entrants in various sports won the bronze medal in volleyball.

While Ausenco won the championship for Division 5, YONG Real Estate unexpectedly won the championship for Division 2. The state government’s minister for sport, Phil Reeve, presented the championship award at the special awards night held in the Marriott Hotel to Peter Huang, the founder of YONG. Many high profile companies also participated in Division 2 including ANZ, ERM Insurance, ING, Subway and Westfield Shopping Group.
